The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integrationcommented on the execution by the Russian military of a citizen, Aleksandr Matiyevskyy:

Following the confirmation by the Ukrainian side that the Ukrainian soldier executed by the Russian soldiers was Alexander Matievsky, the MFAEI strongly condemns the murder of the Moldovan citizen, an act that can be qualified as a war crime and a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

The MFAEI expressed its condolences to the relatives and friends of Alexandr Matievski and solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

We confirm Moldova's firm position on condemning the brutal war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the ministry added.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry believes that the execution of the military officer by the occupier can be qualified as a war crime and a gross violation of international humanitarian laws.
