The SBU has detained FSB agents who spied on the Odessa Region's maritime security service under the guise of a bride and groom. Their correspondence with the FSB handler was extremely illiterate.

The SBU detained two FSB agents who were operating in Odessa and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The spies were correcting missile and artillery strikes on the military infrastructure of the Defence Forces. This was reported by the SBU on 4 July.

On the assignment of the Russian secret service, a 23-year-old Odessa resident and his 18-year-old girlfriend were scouting the locations of the border guard units of the maritime defence forces, which defend the water area of Odessa.

To obtain intelligence, the defendants went round the area under the guise of a bride and groom's walks and took photos against the background of "necessary" objects.

The SBU detained the figureheads red-handed when they were spying near a potential target.

It has been established that the Odessa man also had the task of distributing 100 provocative leaflets against mobilisation across the city and setting fire to a local electricity substation.

The young man came to the occupiers' attention in May this year through anonymous chats in the Telegram channel, where they discuss issues of evading mobilisation. After recruitment, he involved his girlfriend in subversive activities.

During searches in the house of the detainees, mobile phones with evidence of crimes were seized. It is noteworthy that their correspondence was extremely illiterate.

A bank card, which received money from the FSB, and a batch of anti-Ukrainian leaflets were also found.

The SBU investigators informed the Russian agent of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code (high treason committed under martial law).

The criminal actions of his accomplice are qualified under part 2 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code (unauthorised dissemination of information about the movement of weapons into Ukraine, movement or location of the AFU when it is possible to identify them on the ground).

Now the agent is in custody, the issue of selecting a measure of restraint is being decided with regard to his accomplice. They face from 8 years to life imprisonment.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in Odessa SBU neutralised the FSB agent group. The spy cell included two military officers and their accomplice.
