Mother of God on the box of ammunition: fighters gave Usik an amulet (video, photo)
The defenders of Bakhmut presented Oleksandr Usik with a unique icon at the last joint press conference with Dubois before the fight.
Border guards of the Lviv detachment, whom Oleksandr visited earlier, decided to inspire the boxer to win and thank him for his support. This is reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
The unique icon, at the request of the soldiers, was made by the artist Alexander Klimenko.
He depicted the Mother of God on the boards from under the ammunition box as an amulet for our athlete.
It was from this box that the border guards used to hit the occupants on the Bakhmut direction with ammunition.
Thus the fighters supported Oleksandr and once again emphasised that Ukraine must win on all fronts.
The bout with the British boxer will take place this Saturday in the Polish city of Wroclaw.
