Zaluzhny described in the book an encounter with a fortune-teller 25 years ago: "I knew there would be a war

25 years ago, when Valeriy Zaluzhny was a cadet, he learnt that a full-scale war awaited him in the role of the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU. In his book "My War" he told about his meeting with a fortune teller on the train, while travelling from Odessa to Zhitomir, Telegraf reports.

Zaluzhny noted that he remembered this incident only at the end of February 2022, when he realised that Ukraine will face a "brutal war of survival". He is confident that this war will end with Ukraine's victory.

The fortune teller, he said, "heard" the sounds of battle, the screams and cries of children. She also told Zaluzhny that his ancestors fought and he himself is a warrior.

In addition, Zaluzhny expressed his opinion about Europe's readiness for war, noting that it is not ready either psychologically or technically. According to him, European countries and the British army may be ready for short-term combat operations, but not for a war of attrition.
