Xi Jinping sends congratulations to Ukraine and emphasises readiness for long-term cooperation


Xi Jinping expressed "sincere congratulations and best wishes to Zelensky and the Ukrainian people on the occasion of Independence Day."
Chinese President Xi Jinping has congratulated Ukraine on its Independence Day, pointing to the long years of "traditional friendship" between the countries and expressing readiness to develop bilateral cooperation in the interests of the peoples of both countries. The Chinese leader's welcome letter was published on the X network by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In his message, Xi Jinping said: "China and Ukraine are linked by traditional friendship. For 33 years of diplomatic relations our states have been steadily developing, and co-operation in various spheres has brought impressive results. I am ready to work with you to make bilateral relations stable and long-term, benefiting both peoples."
In response, Zelensky thanked his Chinese counterpart for the congratulations and emphasised: "We are interested in developing a long-term dialogue based on mutual respect for the sake of peace, stability and prosperity."
