Writer Serhiy Zhadan mobilised to join the National Guard


Ukrainian writer and public figure Serhiy Zhadan has mobilised to the National Guard and is already undergoing training.
Ukrainian writer, translator, public figure, frontman of the groups Zhadan and Dogs and Mannerheim Line Serhiy Zhadan has joined the National Guard. He reported about it on 6 June in Facebook.
Zhadan said that he joined the National Guard and is now undergoing military training.
Joined the ranks of the 13th brigade of the NSU "Charter". I am undergoing training. I serve the Ukrainian people, - wrote Serhiy Zhadan.
Also Zhadan published his photo in military uniform. Famous journalist and historian Vakhtang Kipiani said in a comment that "this photo will get as many likes as the photo of a naked star". At the moment the photo has gained more than 15 thousand likes.
Serhiy Zhadan's literary works have received numerous national and international awards and have been translated into more than twenty languages.
Serhiy Zhadan is an active organiser of literary life in Ukraine and a participant of multimedia art projects. In 2017, he founded the "Serhiy Zhadan Charitable Foundation".
In March 2022, the Committee of Literary Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences nominated Serhiy Zhadan for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Earlier Socialportal reported that on 25 March, Serhiy Zhadan said on the air of a telethon that he was going to join the National Guard.
