The ban applies to channels belonging to the National Media Group, including CTC, REN-TV, Channel 5 and Domashniy.

This was reported by the Russian media

Hollywood studio Warner Bros. has banned the broadcasting of its films by Russian TV channels belonging to the National Media Group, including STS, REN-TV, Pyatiy Kanal and Domashniy, as well as the video service more.tv. The ban was introduced despite the fact that licensing agreements with the Russian distributor have been in effect for at least another year and a half.

Russians have complained that previously films by this film company enjoyed high ratings, especially on the STS channel - especially during the New Year holidays.

It is worth recalling that after Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, major Hollywood film producers Warner Bros., Universal, Paramount, Disney and Sony left the Russian market.

After that, distributors complained that screenings of Chinese, Korean and Soviet films were able to compensate for only five per cent of the revenues generated by Hollywood blockbusters.
