Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has managed to maintain "warm communication" with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu managed to maintain warm relations with Vladimir Putin for a long time. Moreover, he flaunted this and emphasised his relationship with the dictator as a successful policy. However, the Hamas attack on Israeli territory put an end to this. The WSJ writes about this.

The publication points out that Netanyahu has long remained Putin's friend even as the latter became increasingly isolated.

Even Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the warming of its relations with Israel's arch rival Iran could not undermine this cooperation," the Wall Street Journal writes.

It is noted that the politicians kept in touch by phone. At the same time, Netanyahu declared neutrality towards the war in Ukraine and refused to provide Kiev with military aid or air defence systems, despite Western pressure.

However, as the article emphasises, everything was overturned by the Hamas attack.

Putin is one of the few world leaders who did not call Netanyahu to express condolences over the deaths of more than 1,300 Israelis killed by Hamas during the attack," the authors of the article point out.

For his part, political analyst Abbas Galliamov said in an interview with Radio NV that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should "wash away the shame" of his failed policy towards Hamas and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The political analyst pointed out that Netanyahu, who proudly displayed a "working relationship" with Hamas and Putin "has come out as an overall failure on both fronts."

He needs to really wash that shame off of himself. Shame in such situations is always washed away with the blood of the enemy. That is why Netanyahu can, of course, go straight to the extreme. That is, at the very least, to start military supplies to Ukraine - something Ukraine has been asking for for a very long time. Soon it may turn out that Ukraine will have an Iron Dome, and maybe even more than one. And this is the minimum," said Galliamov.

We will remind, on 14 October, Hamas said that it welcomes "tireless efforts of Russia to stop the aggression of Israel" against the militants. In turn, the Kremlin said that "contacts between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are not planned".
