General Eric Vidot, head of France's Main Directorate of Military Intelligence, is leaving his post due to "insufficient possession of subjects" in connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Figaro writes about this, citing a source in the Ministry of the Armed Forces.

According to the publication, General Vido will leave his post due to erroneous assessments regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

General Vido was appointed head of military intelligence last summer. Prior to that, he led the special operations forces.

The scandal surrounding General Vido arose on the eve of March, when French intelligence, unlike their colleagues from the United States and Britain, considered a Russian invasion unlikely.
