Part of the foreign passports were declared inadmissible due to different transliteration.
This was reported by the State Migration Service.
As noted, such a situation may arise due to the fact that in February 2023 the system for issuing biometric passport documents was updated. Accordingly, in the case of different transliteration in the passport for traveling abroad and ID-card, the last issued document will be considered valid.
In other words, if you have a travel passport and then an ID-card with a different Latin alphabet for your surname or name, the travel document will automatically be invalid", explains the Migration Service.
Ukrainians are asked to review their documents and, if any discrepancies are found, to contact offices of the Migration Service, the CNAP or the Passport Service.
