IAEA inspects Zaporizhzhya NPP after shelling and finds damage

Experts concluded that there was a non-radioactive leak at the nuclear power plant due to damage to condensate storage tanks.



on 20 November, about 10 explosions occurred on the territory of Zaporizhzhya NPP.

Experts also reported that the blasts damaged the main road that runs along the reactors, an inoperable railway, a pipeline with compressed air and the roofs of auxiliary buildings.

IAEA reports:

All six nuclear power plant reactors are in stable condition, nuclear fuel and waste storage sites were not damaged in the strikes. There is no immediate threat to nuclear safety.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi once again called for the agreement and introduction of a nuclear safety zone around the ZNPP as soon as possible.
