Relatives kept the child on a chain in the Odessa region

The child is an orphan whose parents died.
In the Odessa region, the police saved a 7-year-old boy from torture, whom his own aunt and her husband put on a chain. This was reported in the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odessa region.
Law enforcement officers learned that the child was in inhuman conditions on Thursday, September 8, during the monitoring of the Internet network. A video was posted on the Internet in which a young boy was sitting on the ground, tied by the leg to a support with a metal chain. The police found that the child lives in the Berezovsky district with his own aunt and her family, who took custody of his nephew after the death of his parents, and immediately went to the scene.
The husband of the boy's aunt explained that he tied him up because the child did not obey, ran away and "dirty". At the same time, the neighbor stated that the family had been treating the child cruelly for a long period of time. He explained his reluctance to declare this earlier by saying that he did not want to spoil relations with his neighbors.
The police noted that the family is "prosperous" - the Service for Children's Affairs is not registered as being in difficult life circumstances; earlier information about conflicts in it or illegal actions against children was not received by the police. The family is under the social support of the state as a guardian, so social workers, together with the police, used to visit her at her place of residence: she had the proper conditions for living and developing children.
Together with the service for children's affairs, an assessment of the level of safety of the child was carried out and a decision was made to remove him from the family. The boy was temporarily admitted to the hospital. The question of his future fate is being decided, the police said.
In the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations, the police entered information on three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Art. 126-1 (Domestic Violence), Part 1 of Art. 127 (Torture), Part 2 of Art. 146 (Illegal imprisonment or kidnapping committed against a minor).
The police are conducting investigations to establish all the circumstances of the incident, bringing the perpetrators to justice.
