The Ministry of Defense advised women to "be prepared"

The Ukrainian army does not currently have an acute need for conscripting women into the army, but this possibility should not be ruled out. The Ministry of Defense reminds that starting from October, women of a number of professions must appear at the military enlistment office and be registered there, because the war continues and no one can predict the course of events.

However, according to the mobilization law, not all women can be called up. There are a number of conditions and reasons due to which a woman will not be taken into the army.

So, according to the Law, a woman will not be sent to fight if:

• she has severe forms of a disease and is undergoing treatment;
• she independently looks after a child under 18 years old or does the same, but looks after an adult incapacitated person who no longer has anyone;
• if she is raising three or more children under the age of 18 or has a child with a disability;
• if she has a minor child, and her husband is already doing military service;
• if her close relatives were killed or went missing during the ATO;
• having work contracts with state authorities;
• female students of full-time or dual form of education;
• scientific workers and teachers working on a 0.75 rate or full time;
• dismissed from service to the reserve;
• people's deputies of Ukraine, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea;
• employees of military authorities, military units, enterprises, institutions and organizations of the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, the SBU, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service, the National Police, the tax police, the NABU, the SBI, the State Executive Service of Ukraine , Department of State Protection of Ukraine.
