The General Staff commented on Russian claims of a counter-offensive

The General Staff of the Armed Forces has denied Russian claims that a counter-offensive has been launched.
Today Russian propaganda spread information that Ukraine had allegedly launched a counter-offensive in the Donetsk direction. However, the General Staff described the statements as fake, Zerkalo Nedeli reported.
It is noted that an unnamed representative of the General Staff denied the rumours about the launch of a counteroffensive. He also said that there was no information about a "major offensive" yet.
We do not have such information and do not comment on any fake news," the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
Earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar said that the Ukrainian side would not announce the launch of the counteroffensive, asking it to maintain the silence regime.
In his turn, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was ready to launch a counteroffensive. According to the president, Ukraine cannot wait for several months for the weapons it needs from its allies. But he also did not name a specific date.
