US threatens new sanctions against Iran if drones are sold to Russia
The United States will immediately impose new sanctions against Iran in the event of a decision to transfer drones to the Russian army.
The State Department said they have information about training the Russian military to work with drones in Iran. This is written by the Russian propaganda media with reference to the Deputy Representative of the State Department, Vedant Patel.
Back in July, a representative of US agencies was informed about Iran's plans to provide Russia with several hundred drones.
Biden adviser Jake Sullivan reported that US intelligence has information about Tehran's intentions to transfer hundreds of attack drones to Russia.
Also, US State Department spokesman Ned Price reported that the United States is ready to immediately impose new sanctions against Iran if Iran hands over drones to the Russian army.
But Moscow denies the information about the transfer of drones.
Vedant Patel said Moscow asked Tehran for drones capable of carrying weapons to use in the war against Ukraine.
But in response, Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov said that the Russian president during his July visit to Tehran did not discuss the supply of drones with Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
Recall that earlier Biden adviser Jake Sullivan linked the need for Russia to buy drones with significant losses of the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine.
