Ukrainians are asking the authorities to ban the breeding and sale of domestic and wild animals under martial law, as well as for five years after its end. The corresponding petition is registered on the President's website.

In particular, the author of the petition Oleksandr Titarchuk proposes to amend the Law of Ukraine "On the Protection of Animals from Cruelty", namely Article 8 and Article 22.

As Titaruk notes, a ban on breeding pets should be prescribed for the period of wartime and for 5 years after the end of wartime.

He also proposes establishing liability for violation of the breeding ban - a fine from 8,500 to 68,000 hryvnias with confiscation of animals.

To this end, it is planned to amend the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine, supplementing it with a separate article 154-1 "Violation of the ban on breeding domestic and wild animals during martial law."

As of June 19, the petition was signed by 594 people out of 25,000 needed for its consideration by the president.

Recall that the Ministry of Digital Transformation has prepared a selection of online services to help animals during the war.

In particular, you can refer to the website " ZooPatrol ", which rescues the homeless and feeds animals closed in apartments in Kiev.

On the UAnimals website, you can find useful information, for example, how to help pets that have been abandoned by their owners. The organization also raises funds to help animals in Ukraine.

Veterinary Help telegram channel provides remote veterinary care.

There is a support chat for pet owners where you can get online veterinary advice, find working pet stores, information about moving, housing and shelter, and request a consultation on any issue.
