Ukrainian films will be shown at the international competition Berlinale 2023


Nadezhda Parfan's short film It's a Date has been entered into competition at the Berlin Film Festival.
The film is nominated in the Berlinale Shorts competition, as well as for the Golden Bear for Best Short Film and the Silver Bear Jury Prize for Short Film. 20 films in total were selected for this programme.
The film tells the story of how the capital city continues to live on in the midst of full-scale war.
Kiev in 2022, a car rushes through the city at breakneck speed at dawn. The film, shot from a subjective camera angle in a single, unmounted shot, captures the emotions of the state of emergency caused by war," reads the description of the film on Berlinale's website.
The festival will also screen the documentary Iron Butterflies, directed by Roman Lubogo, which recounts the circumstances of the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 in the skies over Donbass in the summer of 2014.
As a reminder, the Berlinale is an international film festival held annually in Berlin and is considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in Eastern Europe and the world.
in 2023, the Berlinale film festival will be held in the German capital on 16-26 February.
