Occupiers prepare to defend Energodar and intend to use locals as human shields

Russian invaders in Energodar, Zaporizhzhya Region, are preparing for the arrival of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and turning apartment buildings and their residents into human shields, NAEC Energoatom reported in its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the Russians intend, in case of an attack, to take cover behind the backs of civilians:

Russian occupiers in the satellite town of Zaporizhzhya NPP are setting up barracks and ammunition depots in the basements of residential buildings. This way, under the cover of the Energodars, the invaders are trying to secure their military in case of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The report indicates that the occupants have started to set up barracks in the basements of residential buildings. Beds and personal belongings of the invaders are being taken there:

We are talking, for example, about the basement of the building in which the Office of Social Programs is located at 10 Kurchatov Street. About 50 occupants are now living there. It is also known about a large quantity of explosives in the communications hub building near the city executive committee

Moreover, according to witnesses, the invaders in Energodar bring large boxes - "probably with weapons or explosives" - into the basements of residential buildings:

This happens at night, and while the "process" lasts, several invaders keep an eye on the windows of homes to protect themselves from unwanted bystanders. Such "night work" has been noticed at once in several residential buildings in the fifth and seventh districts

Energoatom noted that the occupants know that the Ukrainian armed forces do not shoot at residential buildings, so they choose them as a human shield. The company appealed to the citizens to be careful and avoid places where the invaders congregate:
