- Ukrainian refugees abroad must declare their income

Ukrainians who evacuated abroad because of the war must declare all income, including social benefits.
MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Nina Yuzhanina has said that.
According to her, a declaration has to be filed in any case - both if a person worked abroad and if he or she only received financial aid from a foreign country or any charitable organization.
Under the current law, Ukrainians who received only social assistance are exempt from taxation (they will not pay either personal income tax or military duty).
But those Ukrainians who have worked or received other income must pay 18% tax and a 1.5% military tax.
At the same time, according to double taxation treaties, the taxpayer may reduce the amount of annual tax liability by the amount of taxes paid abroad.
In this case the military duty at the rate of 1.5% is payable", says Nina Yuzhanina.
You must submit an income tax return for the year 2022 by 1 May.
You can do it in the electronic office of the State Tax Service of Ukraine.
