Ukrainian special forces coordinate strike on Russian airfield
One of the strikes was coordinated by a special forces unit that was near the base.
This was reported by The New York Times , citing a senior Ukrainian official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to the NYT source, Ukraine used drones to attack two Russian military bases, the Engels and Dyagilevo airfields, on Monday.
At least one of the strikes was coordinated with the help of special forces near the base, who helped direct the drones at the target, according to the source.
It is worth recalling that on the morning of 5 December, there were explosions at two Russian airfields, near Ryazan and in Saratov Region. The Russian defence ministry blamed Ukraine for the attack
