On July 13, military delegations from Ukraine, Russia and Turkey will meet with UN representatives in Istanbul to discuss the export of Ukrainian grain blocked due to the Russian invasion.

This was stated by Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Anadolu reports.

In turn, the representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleg Nikolenko, said that Ukrainian experts at the quadripartite meeting of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN in Istanbul will defend the issues of safe grain exports from Ukrainian ports, UNIAN reports.

On July 13, a quadripartite meeting is scheduled in Istanbul with the participation of experts from Ukraine, the UN, Turkey and Russia. The modalities of the functioning of sea corridors for grain exports will be discussed. At the same time, security issues will remain a key element of the position of the Ukrainian side, Nikolenko stressed.

He added that the "grain negotiations" should take place under the UN umbrella.

Nikolenko also clarified that tomorrow's meeting is precisely a quadripartite meeting of Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and the UN, and not as it is presented by the Russians (a meeting between Russia and Turkey with the participation of Ukraine, as well as the UN as an observer).

Earlier, the press service of the State Enterprise "Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine" informed that in connection with the liberation of the Zmeiny Island from the occupying forces, the mouth of the Bystry ship passage Danube - the Black Sea became available for the passage of ships carrying agricultural products. However, the UN said that the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea-Danube channel is not enough to overcome the threat of global famine.

On July 11, the first 8 foreign ships arrived in Ukrainian ports to transport agricultural products.

On June 25, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Solsky said that 18 million tons of old crop grains should be exported from Ukraine. Another 60 million tons are expected from the new crop. 20 million tons will be sent for domestic consumption, which means that a total of 58 million tons of grain must be exported.
