The war has affected the family life of Ukrainians: almost half of spouses live separately

4Service Company together with the All-Ukrainian Foundation for the Well-Being of Children conducted a unique research on families forced to live apart due to war. This is Ukraine's first in-depth analysis of the impact of long-term separation on the psycho-emotional state of children and their families, which included an online survey of 520 parents from all over the country, focus groups with families living apart, as well as in-depth interviews with experts in the field of mental health, education and social policy.

Key findings from the study: more than half (52%) of families are now separated, 62% are experiencing prolonged emotional difficulties, with only 9% having sought professional psychological help.

The authors emphasise: "Children in separation is not the exception, but the rule. If we do not take action now, this situation can turn into a chronic trauma for the whole generation".

The All-Ukrainian Foundation for the Well-Being of Children is one of Ukraine's leading organisations working to protect children's rights.
