It is only about those who have dual citizenship.

This is reported by the publication "League".

Latvian President Egils Levits believes that it is impossible to be "neutral" in the current situation.

According to him, there are Russians in Latvia who are clearly pro-Ukrainian. But there are also those "who have not yet understood what is happening, but are gradually moving towards understanding."

Levits noted that those who support the actions of the Russian authorities may be included in a special list of deprivation of Latvian citizenship. He clarified that we are talking only about those who have lost dual citizenship.

In April 2022, the Latvian Saeima provisionally approved a law depriving dual citizenship of people of citizenship for supporting actions that threaten the territorial integrity of other democratic countries and for directly participating in such actions. If such a person has one citizenship, Latvian, there is no mechanism for depriving him yet.
