The number of vacancies in the south of Ukraine has reached the level that existed before the full-scale invasion

The number of available jobs in the southern regions of Ukraine is recovering and reaching levels that existed before the Russian full-scale invasion.
According to OLX Jobs for July 2023, the number of job adverts in Odessa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions is 10.4 thousand. This is almost twice as much as in the same period a year ago, when there were only 5.5 thousand vacancies. In 2021, this number was 13.4 thousand.
It is indicated that the majority, namely 67% of all available vacancies in the south of Ukraine, is offered in the city of Odessa, while Mykolaiv accounts for 9% of vacancies.
In the Kherson region, which remains under Ukrainian control, there are virtually no job adverts for obvious reasons. As for the city of Kherson, there are only 166 vacancies available for July 2023.
Among the most common professions are the following:
- Handyman: the average salary is 25,000 hryvnias, with an average of 30 candidates per vacancy.
2. Salesperson: average salary of UAH 12,000, with an average of 16 applicants per vacancy.
3. Driver: average salary of UAH 26,250, average number of responses for one vacancy is 15 people.
4. Trucker: this profession is one of the highest paid, especially in the south. The median salary is UAH 46,250 and there are 16 applicants for one vacancy.
5. Cook: 15,000 hryvnia per month is offered, and the ratio of responses to vacancies is 8 to 1.
6. Seamstress: the median salary is 12,000 hryvnias, with an average of 5 people responding to one vacancy.
7. Waiter: offered 12,500 UAH in line with the market and there are 11 applicants per vacancy.
8. Security guard: the average salary is 10,000 hryvnia and there are 7 applicants per vacancy.
9. Tractor driver: the average salary is UAH 20,000, and the number of willing candidates per one advert is 9.
