Schools are being prepared in the capital for the new academic year under war conditions.
Recall, according to a survey conducted by the Kyiv City State Administration, about 70% of parents expressed their desire for their children to study offline this year. Therefore, it was decided to prepare schools for the new academic year to work in military mode. To do this, each school had to equip a place for the shelter of students, where they would have to be in the event of an air raid. It was also decided to make training in several shifts in such a way that there would be enough places in shelters for students who are currently in an educational institution.
According to the KSCA , there are now about 180,000 schoolchildren in the capital, and 138,000 of them will start the academic year offline.
421 communal schools are ready for the academic year. Only schools where there is a shelter or such an object is nearby within walking distance will be able to work offline.
Currently, schools that have shelters are ready to accept 145,000 people at the same time, and 138,000 parents have written applications for full-time education of children. The number of places in shelters fluctuates, so at the same time, teachers and schoolchildren can participate in the full-time educational process with no more than the capacity of the shelter, the KSCA reports.
Also on the website of the Kyiv City State Administration published a photo of what the bomb shelters look like in some schools in the capital. Keep in mind that most likely not all of them are like that. In the basement there are places for studying, resting, eating, and there are dry closets. But perhaps there are worse conditions.
Each school day will begin with a mention of safety measures.
By the way, parents can change the format of their child's education during the year. Students in schools that do not reopen for in-person learning may transfer to another school, subject to availability.
