Since the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the aggressor country has deported more than 7,000 children from Ukraine. So far, only 51 minors have been returned to their homeland. Ombudsman for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets spoke about this in an interview with Voice of America .
At the same time, he noted that Russia in every possible way keeps Ukrainian children and does not make contact upon their return to their homeland. Moreover, in the Russian Federation there is a campaign with the adoption of little Ukrainians.
Russia is doing everything so that our children do not return to us, even simplified their legislation regarding adoption, - said Lubinets.
The Ombudsman called such actions of Moscow a genocide of the Ukrainian nation and pointed to a violation of international law.
According to Lubinets, Ukraine is working on the return of children, but so far the process is moving slowly.
