US may soon announce additional security assistance for Ukraine

Total US military aid to Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion exceeds $26.7 billion.

In a briefing to reporters on Tuesday, White House spokeswoman Olivia Dalton said:

"I expect that we will soon announce additional security assistance (for Ukraine).

Also Dalton, when asked about Biden's refusal to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, said the US had given Ukraine billions of dollars worth of military aid.

At the same time, Reuters reports that the US is preparing a $2.2bn arms package for Ukraine, which for the first time includes longer-range missiles.
