Media: Russian Federation uses new 1,500kg bombs against Ukraine for the first time

The 1.5 tonnes of guided glider munitions, USAB-1500V (index K029B), have been used in the Chernigov region.
This was reported by Defense Express, citing sources in the Armed Forces.
According to the publication, the first use of this "new and quite dangerous weapon" was recorded several weeks ago against a facility in Chernihiv Region.
The high threat of using the UPAB-1500V is that it is a gliding bomb, equipped with an inertial and satellite navigation system and has a warhead weighing 1010 kg, designed to hit highly protected targets. The bomb can be dropped 40 km from the target, for which the carrier must climb to an altitude of 14 km.
Russia's use of gliding bombs remains sporadic because providing a high range requires flying at a considerable altitude, which makes it easier to identify targets and the carrier's capability to engage, the journalists note.
