Slovak authorities fear the war could spill over into their territory.
The deputy chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and head of the far-right Slovak People's Party SNS, Andrej Danko, has said that the Russian Federation is not the aggressor in the war against Ukraine. According to the politician, the terrorist state on the territory of the neighbouring sovereign country is allegedly "protecting its interests". Danko said on air on RTVS.
Russia is not an aggressor, it is defending its interests, - said the head of the head of the National Council.
He also expressed fear that the military conflict could go beyond Ukraine and spill over to Europe. He urged to do "everything possible to prevent the conflict from spreading to our territory".
He added that the Russians were killing Ukrainians "with a sense of helping their nation," and for Western countries to side with Ukraine would mean "escalating tensions."
Danko added that NATO had become obsolete and that the European Union "needs to be reformed and needs a critical voice".
