How much money did the occupiers lose on Snake Island
The Russian occupiers fled the island, but called it "an act of good will."
In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed Russian equipment on Zmeiny Island worth almost a billion dollars (at least $915 million). The biggest loss is the cruiser Moskva, which cost $750 million. This is reported by Forbes.
In addition, the Ukrainian army destroyed at least eight anti-aircraft systems of the Tor, Pantsir and Strela types with a total value of more than $100 million and four water craft of various classes with a total value of about $50 million.
One of the important targets was the rescue tug vessel "Vasily Bekh", which sank as a result of a Ukrainian missile hit.
During the operation to liberate the island, three Pantsir S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems were destroyed.
Serpentine is a very small island, only 0.2 square kilometers. A piece of land smaller than the Kremlin is located in the Black Sea, just 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian coast.
The most famous episode of the Battle for Serpent Island was the death of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the cruiser Moskva. The ship sank on April 14, 2022 after it was hit by two missiles from the Ukrainian coastal anti-ship complex Neptune.
The evacuation of the Russian garrison from Zmeiny Island on June 30 was, as the Russian Defense Ministry initially said, "a move of good will." in turn, the Ukrainian joint command "South" stated that another blow was dealt at Zmeinoy at night, after which the Russian garrison was hastily evacuated.
