Scholz spoke out on further military support for Ukraine

Germany sees Putin's war as invasive and unjust.
Berlin should be ready to step up military support for Ukraine against the background of weakening assistance from other allies. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this at the conference of the German Social Democratic Party, n-tv reported.
This war will probably not end any time soon, which means that Ukraine will need support," he pointed out.
Scholz emphasised that aid to Kiev should be long-term and German politicians should take this into account.
It is important that we can do what is necessary for a long time, namely to continue supporting Ukraine in its struggle," Scholz said.
According to him, Germany should be prepared for the fact that it will have to "do even more when others are weakened," and therefore decisions should already be taken on Berlin's part "so that we can do it."
The Chancellor noted that Europe is in a difficult and dangerous position where its security no longer seems as inviolable as it used to be. At the same time, he stressed that the notion of borders and good neighbourhood should become one of the EU's priorities.
With the invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has put an end to security in Europe, so there must be clarity, borders in Europe will no longer be moved by force," he said.
Scholz was also clear in favour of further military support for Ukraine: "President Putin cannot expect us to back down."
