SBU detains Russian agents who were preparing explosions in Vinnytsia

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has stopped a dangerous group that was preparing two explosions in Vinnytsia on instructions from Russian special services.
Investigators found out that the attackers first wanted to plant an explosive device under the Ukrainian military officer's car in order to detonate it with a call to a mobile phone attached to the bomb. It was supposed to work remotely. The SBU press service reports.
But the SBU learnt about these plans in advance and detained the participants when they were installing a hidden camera near the place of a possible explosion.

The detainees turned out to be two unemployed women from the Kiev region. They found "work" through Telegram channels promising easy money and agreed to carry out Russian tasks. They rented a flat in Vinnitsa in order to operate discreetly.
According to the SBU, the bomb was made by the third participant, a 33-year-old local resident.
If the explosion had taken place, the next target would have been the police station. But the SBU officers prevented the plan from materialising.
During the search they found two improvised explosives and phones with correspondence confirming cooperation with Russian special services.
All participants were informed of suspicion of high treason in war conditions (part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They are now in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
