On the morning of 28 September, Russia struck a hospital in Sumy. More than a hundred people were in the medical facility at the time of the attack.
Days of mourning have been declared in Sumy on 29 and 30 September for those killed in the Russian Federation strike. This was announced by the acting mayor of Sumy, secretary of the city council Artem Kobzar on the page in the telegram channel and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on Facebook.

According to the press service of the Sumy regional military administration, nine people died as a result of drone strikes on a medical facility. Among them a policeman and a nurse. It is also known about 19 injured.
At the time of the Russian shelling, 86 patients and 38 employees were in the medical facility.
The State Emergency Situations Service informed that rescue and search operations were completed at the site of the strike. 122 people had to be evacuated. Emergency and recovery work continues.
The Sumy City Council said that residents whose homes were damaged due to the Russian Federation attack on 28 September can apply to the humanitarian organisation Save the children and register for cash assistance of 10,800 hryvnias.
