Russians attack a bus carrying civilians, nine people killed, seven injured

Days of mourning have been declared in Sumy region because of the Russian strike on a passenger bus.



In Sumy Region, 17-18 May have been declared Days of Mourning for those killed in a drone attack by Russians on a passenger bus near Bilopolye. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov.

It should be noted that on Saturday early in the morning of 17 May, Russia hit a flight bus in Sumy region. As a result of the attack, 9 people were killed and another 7 injured.

According to the chairman of the Sumy OVA Oleh Grigorov, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck the Lancet weapons at the Bilopolye-Sumy flight bus at the exit from the town of Bilopolye at 06:17 am. Ambulance, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations and the police immediately arrived at the scene.

As the head of the Bilopolye community Yuriy Zarko said in a commentary to "Suspilnom", "Lancet" was guided by a reconnaissance drone of the Rashists.

Outside the city the bus was hit by the "Lancet", it was led by a reconnaissance drone. Now we have nine dead. The wounded were treated on the spot and sent to Sumy hospital. Now we are removing the bodies of the dead. The identities of some of them have not yet been established. The vast majority are women of retirement age. Also a few men," he informed.

He also noted that the people in the bus, which was attacked by Russian terrorists, were on their way to evacuate from Bilopolye.

The National Police added that police investigation and operational teams were working at the site of the tragedy. Law enforcers are documenting the consequences of the shelling, collecting evidence and recording the offences.
