The occupiers in Ukraine continue to damage the environment, in particular, in Luhansk Region the invaders have destroyed at least one third of the forest fund and nature protection areas.
This was reported by the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Artem Lysohir.
According to him, the Russians are destroying one of the largest forests in eastern Ukraine, unique steppes and dozens of nature reserves with rare species of flora and fauna.
Luhansk region had a huge potential of nature reserve fund - more than 95 thousand hectares in total. All this is being completely destroyed by the Russians today," Lysogor noted.
It is still difficult to assess the damage that the occupants cause to the environment. But the regional ecoinspection managed to establish information about the destruction of 26 thousand hectares of the forest fund of Luhansk region. According to preliminary calculations, this is more than 180 billion hryvnias of material damage.
It is known that the occupants damaged:
- National Natural Park "Kremen Forests";
- Hydrological reserve "Kreminskie kaptazhy";
- part of the Luhansk Nature Reserve "Trekhizbenskaya Steppe";
- Protected tract "Oak Grove".
