Dmitry Kuleba was in China for more than three hours discussing with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi ways to achieve a "just peace" in the war with Russia.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Guangzhou on 24 July, Socialportal has reported.

The talks on achieving a "just peace" in the war with Russia lasted about three hours.

The position of the Chinese side

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the Ukrainian side "highly appreciates the positive and constructive role played by China in promoting peace and maintaining international order."

The Ukrainian side highly appreciates the positive and constructive role played by the Chinese side in promoting peace and maintaining international order. The Ukrainian side attaches great importance to the views of the Chinese side and has carefully studied the "six-point consensus" of China and Brazil on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Ukrainian side is willing and ready for dialogue and negotiations with the Russian side.

Of course, the negotiations should be reasonable and substantive, aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace, - the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

Position of the Ukrainian side

The main topic of the discussions was the search for ways to stop Russian aggression and China's possible role in achieving a sustainable and just peace, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

I am convinced that a just peace in Ukraine corresponds to the strategic interests of China, and China's role as a global force for peace is important," Dmytro Kuleba said during his meeting with his Chinese counterpart.

Dmytro Kuleba conveyed Ukraine's consistent position that it is ready to negotiate with the Russian side at a certain stage when Russia is ready to negotiate in good faith, but noted that so far there is no such readiness on the Russian side

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasised that "Russian aggression does not only stand in the way of Ukraine's development. It also hinders international stability, the development of good-neighbourly relations and, in particular, the development of trade between China and Europe".

During the talks, Kuleba also said that a just peace in Ukraine is in China's interests, in particular promoting its trade with Europe. He added that relations between Beijing and Kiev should be built taking into account Ukraine's future membership in the European Union, about which negotiations have already started.

Ukraine will not bend to ultimatums. Dmytro Kuleba's comments

Dmytro Kuleba recorded a video after the talks with comments on his visit to China.

He noted that some media and TG channels have "picked up Russian narratives".

Ukraine has never caved in to a single ultimatum from Putin or a terrible military strike. And Ukraine will never bend an inch if anyone from any part of the world tries to speak to us in the language of ultimatums. It is simply impossible. Not such a President Zelensky, not such a state of Ukraine and not such a people," Dmytro Kuleba said.

During the negotiations, Kuleba emphasised two principles - no negotiations on Ukraine without Ukraine and full respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

If these two principles are observed, Ukraine is ready for any negotiations.

Socialportal reported earlier that the Chinese Foreign Ministry made a statement after Dmytro Kuleba's visit.
