Number of victims of five-storey building attack in Mykolaiv rises

As of 7.15pm, the death toll from a missile hitting a block of flats had risen to seven.



The bodies of the six dead have been removed from under the rubble, another person has died in hospital, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported, Suspilne news agency has quoted the State Emergency Service as saying.

A married couple was among those killed by Russian shelling, the deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said. A 16-year-old child survived because he slept in another room. The boy is being taken care of by social services.

A pet guinea pig was found during search and rescue work on a 5-storey building in Mykolaiv. The animal is unharmed but a little shocked.
