Negotiations in Jeddah: President's office peace formula

An international summit was held in Saudi Arabia the other day, during which the Ukrainian side presented President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Formula for Peace. The details of the document were made public today by the President's Office.
According to the head of the OP, Andrei Yermak, the Peace Formula is built on the key principles of international law and the UN Charter, as well as respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within their internationally recognised borders.
Each of the 10 points of the Formula fulfils these principles. And they were unanimously defined by the participants of the meeting of national security advisers," Yermak said.
Among the items identified in the Formula for Peace document:
- Radiation and nuclear safety;
- Food and energy and environmental security;
- Release of prisoners and deported persons;
- Restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity;
- Withdrawal of Russian troops and cessation of hostilities;
- Restoration of justice;
- Prevent escalation of the war and repetition of aggression;
- Confirmation of the end of the war.
Yermak added that the next steps for implementing the Formula should be the development of the agenda, namely the necessary documents, conclusions and agreements on the implementation of each item.
In the near future, a regular meeting of the ambassadors of the participating countries will be held to coordinate further actions. Practical steps for the implementation of each of the items of the World Formula will be worked out," the head of the Presidential Office said.
At the same time, the preparation of the agenda for the Global Peace Summit continues.
We shall remind you that representatives of more than 30 countries met in Jeddah on 5-6 August to discuss the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Among the issues discussed were: the implementation of the Peace Formula, Ukraine's defence and security, grain supply, and humanitarian issues of deportation of Ukrainian children.
The Office of the President noted that despite Ukraine's support, not all summit participants understand the essence of the Russian invasion. Some states still think that "there are some territorial disputes between Russia and Ukraine".
