Military analyst Col. Petro Chernik said that the provision of artillery ammunition and air defence equipment to Ukraine will be discussed during the eleventh meeting of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group in the Ramstein format on 21 April.

When asked about the biggest needs of the Ukrainian army at the moment and their potential satisfaction after the next Ramstein, Petro Chernik said that "the biggest, most important need is aviation.

It is the weapon that will help us to turn the tide of the war. Do I have any optimism for tomorrow specifically? No, no. Although miracles may happen," he added.

According to the analyst, during tomorrow's meeting there will be "synchronization of clocks" regarding the goal agreed last month by the European Union to allocate 1 million artillery shells to Ukraine.

Also, according to Petro Chernik, the meeting is likely to talk about strengthening of the Ukrainian air defence.

He reminded that the first Patriot systems have already arrived in Ukraine and forecasts the possibility of allocating "another batch" of NASAMS and IRIS-T systems. Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on Wednesday that building a multi-level air defence/air defence system as soon as possible was a priority for the Ukrainian army. У

Another IRIS-T installation, for which we are grateful to our German partners - enhancing our ability to counter cruise missiles. IRIS's, like NASAMS's, have proven themselves well," he wrote.
