Viktor Orban asked Vladimir Zelensky to consider a pause and cease fire.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, during his visit to Kyiv, urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to consider a cease-fire, which could speed up the pace of negotiations. He said this at a joint press conference in Kyiv, Ukrinform reported.

I asked Mr President to think about whether it is not possible to go a little bit differently, to take a break, to break the fire and then to start, to continue negotiations. After all, a ceasefire could ensure that the pace of these negotiations is accelerated," Orban said.

Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Office of the President, said in the telethon that Hungary is not the first country to talk about a ceasefire, but Ukraine has a clear position on how to achieve peace, and its discussion has already started during the first Peace Summit.

Hungary is not the first country to talk about such a scenario. The President of Ukraine listened to his interlocutor, but in response he outlined his position, which is clear, understandable and known. Ukraine really wants peace, and we have a tool for this - Ukraine held the first, inaugural peace summit and is preparing for the second one," Zhovkva said.

He said that if the Russian Federation does not speak the language of ultimatums, its representatives will be able to attend the second summit in one capacity or another.

Earlier it was reported that the Belarusian army has learnt to handle non-strategic nuclear weapons and will use them in case of a threat to the sovereignty and independence of the country.

Socialportal also reported that Viktor Orban, who chairs the European Council, arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday morning, 2 June, for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski.
