UN: Ukraine may face electricity shortages in winter

The UN admits that Ukraine may face a shortage of electricity next winter.
The UN assures that, for its part, it is making efforts to mitigate the possible consequences. This was stated by the representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric, the press service of the UN Secretary General reports .
As for winter, we are of course concerned about problems with access to energy for a large number of households, which will have devastating consequences. Therefore, we are working with the Ukrainian authorities to support wintering and population protection programs, as well as in any areas that will help mitigate the consequences, Dujarric said.
Recall that on September 11, Russia, a country supporting terrorism recognized by Latvia, launched a missile attack on one of the largest Kharkiv thermal power plants in Ukraine. As a result, there was a disconnection of power supply facilities and a number of settlements in Kharkov, Poltava, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk regions were de-energized.
