The Ministry of Health told how to help in case of stroke and seizures

In a war, everyone should have the skills to provide first aid.
The Ministry of Health reminded us of the basic rules for helping the victim.
Knowing how to provide first aid and do no harm properly is necessary during a full-scale war because simple knowledge saves lives.
The symptoms of a stroke are:
- sudden weakness, numbness of the arm, leg, and half of the face;
- violation of speech and (or) it's understanding;
- sudden loss of balance, consciousness, lack of coordination, dizziness;
- acute headache for no reason or after severe stress or exercise;
Remember the main thing: if you suspect a stroke in a person, immediately call an emergency medical team.
If the victim is conscious:
- offer him a comfortable position with his head elevated;
- do not let the person drink and eat;
- look after the injured until the arrival of doctors;
- If the victim is unconscious;
- check for breathing;
- if breathing, turn him into a stable lateral position and watch him until the ambulance arrives;
- if the person is not breathing, start cardiopulmonary resuscitation (see above).
There is an algorithm for checking the stroke "Three Ps": smile, talk, raise your hands. If a person cannot smile symmetrically at both corners of his mouth, raise his hands, and slurred speech, he could have had a stroke. And the most effective help is provided the first time, so it is essential to deliver the person to the hospital as soon as possible.
It is important to remember: that no medicine for a stroke should be given to a person! First, she is not able to swallow them in this state. And secondly, even the treatment she takes on an ongoing basis will not help.
The only thing you have to do is to sit the victim up or lay him on his side if he is unconscious. Get ready to vomit. And if the person is conscious, lean forward. With a heart attack, you can focus on such subjective feelings of the patient: acute burning pain behind the sternum, which can also radiate to the left, the inability to take a full breath, panic fear.
Here it is recommended to provide access to fresh air, and if a person suddenly loses consciousness, control the airways and take him to an ambulance as soon as possible. And don't give your medicines only if the victim has a medication that he takes on an ongoing basis. The American Heart Association recommends that if there is no open bleeding, the person may take one aspirin.
As for seizures, the causes of attacks can be different. The Ministry of Health notes that this is not only epilepsy.
A cramp is a voluntary contraction of a muscle or group of muscles, usually accompanied by sharp pain.
Among them are also:
- mechanical damage to the brain;
- bleeding in the brain;
- meningitis;
- encephalitis;
- hypo- or hyperglycemia;
- alcohol abuse and more.
Call the emergency medical team if you witness a person having a seizure.
Then you need:
- place the victim on a flat surface, and put soft things under his head to avoid head injuries,
- open their clothes,
- if, after the termination of the trial, the victim is unconscious, make sure he is breathing,
- if there is breathing, turn the person to a stable lateral position; if not, start cardiopulmonary resuscitation (how to do this is described above).
- look after the injured until the arrival of doctors.
