Intelligence intercepted video of an enemy UAV flying over a power unit of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
Russian troops are using kamikaze drones over the nuclear reactors of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which is located on occupied territory. This was reported by the Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate on 2 May.
The GSD has received evidence of the use of kamikaze drones by Russian troops over nuclear reactors of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant seized by the Russian Federation.
Video from the enemy fpv-drone, obtained by means of electronic intelligence, contains the marking UT4D.TT, which indicates the delivery of the drone to the occupation troops by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, - reported in intelligence.
It is noted that the flight path of the Russian UAV passed over the power units of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant towards the Ukrainian-controlled territory.
The GUR reported that the Russian Federation uses the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP to launch drones, taking advantage of the fact that the Ukrainian Defence Forces cannot return fire in the one and a half kilometre zone around the NPP.
It is reported that the Russian occupiers have equipped UAV launch pads near the sixth reactor of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
Since the summer of 2023, the territory of the captured Zaporizhzhya NPP has been used by Russian troops for training fpv-drone pilots. This is done by the so-called Archangel school, which is funded by the main directorate of the general staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Earlier Socialportal reported that Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant was once again attacked by a drone, at the same time representatives of the IAEA were not allowed into the territory of the plant. This was reported by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Mariano Grossi. The occupants explained the denial of access by a potential security risk
Also, in April, IAEA experts confirmed the physical consequences of a drone attack on one of the six reactors of ZNPP. A drone exploded on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant in temporarily occupied Energodar on 7 April.
