Most of the cases were recorded in the frontline areas.
In October, 183 civilians were killed in Ukraine due to full-scale Russian aggression. At least 903 people were injured. This is stated in a report by the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine (UNMHRU).
It is indicated that the Russians in October killed 9 children, 49 more were wounded.
The report says that 80 per cent of civilian casualties were recorded near the front line, in particular as a result of aerial bombardments, artillery shelling, strikes from multiple rocket launchers and drones.
The highest number of casualties was recorded in Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
Experts point out that the Russians carried out drone attacks more than 1,900 times in October.
The organisation added that from 24 February 2022, after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, until the end of October 2024, 12,162 civilians were killed and 26,919 were injured. It is noted that the real number of such casualties is actually higher, as there is no accurate information on the number of civilians killed from the occupied territory.
