A new commander of the Russian group in Ukraine was appointed


Prior to the invasion of Ukraine, Surovikin commanded a Russian group in Syria.
Russian General Sergei Surovikin has been appointed commander of the Joint Group in the zone of the "special military operation", TASS reports. According to open data, until today he served as commander-in-chief of the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation. Earlier, Russian military correspondents mentioned that at least part of the Russian troops in Ukraine is already under his leadership.
Surovikin - participant in the 1991 coup. Then he commanded a motorized rifle battalion of the Taman division, which crushed three young men to death.
He is also a participant in the armed conflict in Tajikistan, the Second Chechen War, and the military operation of Russia and Syria. He was awarded the star of the Hero of Russia, the orders of St. George IV degree, Courage, "For Military Merit" and a number of medals.
Now he will be responsible for the murders of Ukrainians and the conduct of the war.
