Moscow reacts to probable new Western sanctions

The US and Europe will step up military aid and sanctions against the aggressor country if Russian Federation does not agree to a ceasefire.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the recent new sanctions imposed by the UK and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's statements about the readiness to strengthen them, emphasising that the Russian side has no fear of further restrictions. Peskov said this in a conversation with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin on the morning of 10 May.
He was asked to express the Kremlin's position in response to the new British sanctions and Mertz's words about the need to increase pressure on Moscow if it does not agree to peace talks.
Sanctions pressure has become commonplace for us. We are already working out steps in advance to minimise possible damage. Therefore, such threats do not affect us anymore," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the UK, Germany, France and Poland arrived in Kiev. Together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, they held a video call with US President Donald Trump and, speaking as a united "Coalition of the willing", announced their readiness to support a ceasefire starting on 12 May. The politicians said that if Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not agree to a proposed 30-day ceasefire, the U.S. and Europe will step up military aid and sanctions against the aggressor country to force it to the negotiating table.
