Three scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics have been arrested for treason in Russia.

The Russian authorities have arrested the authors and developers of the Kinzhal missiles because they have undermined "the strategic foundation of Russia's military capabilities". They are accused of treason because they "effectively deceived Putin". The former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Nikolay Malomuzh, said this in an interview with TSN.

He pointed out that the first dissatisfaction with the "Daggers" appeared in the Kremlin after the first missile launches. After all, not only did they fail to hit the planned targets, but they could not even do much damage to civilian objects.

The developers, who were arrested, clearly positioned that the Dagger is a super-weapon that does not exist in the world, that "hits the five kopecks" - specifically at the target. It's a target that is defined specifically by trajectory - a defence facility or our airfield or 'decision-making centre'," Malomuzh clarified.

He noted that the "super capabilities" of the Russian "Dagger" turned out to be a bluff, a deception that was exposed and became another embarrassment for the Russian Federation.

Putin was "actually deceived" because the "Daggers" do not have the superpowers that the Russian president sacredly believed in, Malomuzh said.

The former intelligence chief said that the arrested missile developers had asked for rehabilitation while already in prison and, probably, the last massive launch of the "Kinzhalov" into Ukraine was made at their instigation, but, as is known, the Russians failed this time, too.

We shall remind you that three scientists from the Novosibirsk Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics have been arrested in Russia under the "treason" article:

  • valery Zvegintsev, a doctor of technical sciences;
  • alexander Shiplyuk, director of IMPM;
  • anatoly Maslov, chief scientist.
