The relevant bill has been submitted to the Lithuanian Seim.

The Lithuanian public broadcaster LRT reports this.

Three members of the Seimas have developed appropriate amendments to the law on citizenship. They suggest that a citizen of another country who has acquired Lithuanian citizenship should be deprived of a Lithuanian passport if his actions threaten the security and interests of Lithuania.

In particular, they will take away the passport from foreigners for supporting Russia in the war against Ukraine. The bill will be registered in the Seimas on 11 August.

According to the authors, they propose changes taking into account the current situation of the Russian war in Ukraine and the threat to Lithuania and the entire region. According to politicians, the existing grounds for loss of citizenship do not correspond to the geopolitical situation.
