The National Electronic Media Council also plans to block the channel's broadcasting in the country altogether.
This was reported by Tvnet.
The decision was taken by the National Council for Electronic Media.
According to the head of the National Council, Ivars Abolins, the decision was taken in the interests of "national security and public order".
The council also plans to completely block broadcasting of the channel.
These events were preceded by a scandal with one of the anchors of the channel. Last week the journalist said in a live broadcast that the channel could help Russian servicemen with equipment at the front. After that the anchor was fired. But the wave of discontent has not subsided.
It is worth recalling that Dozhd is a channel with Russian journalists who moved to Riga after Russia started invading Ukraine.
