This was reported by German TV channel N-tv with a reference to representatives of the Rheinmetall concern.

According to preliminary information, the German arms company Rheinmetall is building in Romania a service centre for Western military equipment used in Ukraine.

Construction work for the hub is already under way near the town of Satu Mare, which is located near the Ukrainian border.

The service centre may start operating as early as this month.

According to the company, the centre will service self-propelled howitzers, military trucks, Leopard 2 and Challenger battle tanks, Marder BMPs and Fuchs APCs.
